Is there a living free from all conflicts?
It is only a mind that is not tortured, that is not distorted, that is very clear, that has no markings of any kind of conflict, it is only such a mind that can see what truth is, and therefore can live.
— J. Krishnamurti
From Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 September 2026, the annual Deep Learning Retreat takes place at Domein Menas in Maria Aalter, facilitated by Mukesh Gupta. For four days we explore together, with compassion, whether a way of living free from conflict is possible — not by rushing to an answer, but by holding the question openly and deeply and allowing insight to unfold. Through silence, attention and love, a deeper source of being is gently awakened.
We meet as fellow travellers and beginners, without hierarchy or agenda, in a spirit of togetherness and wonder. The work rests on deep looking, listening and compassionate presence: it is stillness, not past knowledge, that answers the question. What emerges is a sacred space for learning and unlearning — not for debate or instruction — entered with gentleness, humility and an open heart.
Approach
The days unfold in a calm rhythm of inspiring dialogues in larger and smaller groups, meditative nature walks and silence. Selected texts by J. Krishnamurti help to open the inquiry. No prior knowledge of philosophy or teachings is required.
Facilitation
Mukesh Gupta facilitates the retreat through his approach 'Meditative & Transformative Self-Inquiry', inspired by J. Krishnamurti, the Buddha and non-dualistic teachings.
Organisation
Organised by Vereniging Leerproject in collaboration with the School for Self-Inquiry.
